Best Face Photo - 2010
My niece is always such a ham, so it was fun to catch this rather subdued, yet mischievous, shot of her last summer at Fatburger.

Be Still
I have loved Lisa Leonard's jewelry for a long time {she's so sweet and talented!}, but haven't had the opportunity to purchase any for myself. I've entered numerous contests giving away her jewelry. After who-knows-how-many entries, I WON! My dear friend, Dawn {My Home Sweet Home} hosted an amazing giveaway with her 2010 Christmas Guide and I actually won!

Then came the difficult task of choosing what to order. Goodness, she has so many beautiful pieces. But I've had my eye on a necklace titled Be Still for quite some time {even has it engraved on the back!}. Anyone who knows me knows that STILL is not exactly my strong suit. I know that stillness is a good thing, it's just so hard to get to. So it seemed to me that wearing this necklace would be a lovely and sweet reminder. A reminder that I could really use.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10

I Heart Faces Photo Walk
I'm excited and honored - one of my entries for the I Heart Faces Photo Walk was chosen as the winner for my city!! If you click the link, you can also see the winners for the other cities. There are some terrific photos.

I selected this image because I just kept coming back to it as I looked over the selections from our group. I feel like it really captured the feeling of the old building and the history housed within. - Kristi, Colorado Springs Photo Walk Leader
Here are my other two entries:

In the background, you can see Pikes Peak. Also, if you go back and look at the shot of the entire Pioneer Museum, you can see these finials (I think that's what they'd be called) WAY up at the top of the bell tower.

I Heart Red
Edited to add: Now I am sad. Not because I wasn't chosen, but because I didn't get a chance. Our modem crashed so I had to scramble to get my pix onto a flash drive, put it all on hubby's laptop, upload, and post from there, only to find out that the comments were CLOSED! It just said to enter by 4/2/10. Well, it still IS 4/2/10. They didn't put a time or time zone cutoff. I can't believe I missed it. How sad.
It is SO much fun to find new photog sites like Beyond Snapshots, run by Rachel & Peta. The cool thing is that each brings unique experience to the site to help and inspire others. I'm definitely enjoying their Tips & Tricks section.
Not only is Beyond Snapshots a very fun site, but they're giving away a red Lola epiphanie camera bag. This bag is beautiful and I really, really want one. Really.
So here's the dealio: I have to post something RED to enter the contest. To win the bag that I so desperately want. What better red to share than Cherry Kisses?
If I won this bag, I'd have to carry some of those kisses around with me to share.
Which would make people smile.
Which would cause me to whip out my camera and take their picture.
Which would make me smile because I had won the bag.
Did I mention that I really, truly want this bag?
Cause I do.
Pretty please, with a cherry kiss on top?

Cool Site & Camera Bag
Have you seen all the beautiful new products & contest for pro photographers on Design Aglow? This is an awesome resource for photographers and I'm excited to have found them. They are having an incredible camera bag giveaway that I would SO love to win. We're not talking your standard, run-of-the-mill-looks-like-a-camera-bag camera bag. This is a gorgeous bag from Epiphanie!

Did I mention that I really want one of these?
Really, really, really want one.
A lot.

Want to Learn Latin? For Free?
I've heard FABULOUS things about the Rosetta Stone language programs. Of course, when it's really awesome, there is usually a cost associated. You know, the old "you get what you pay for"? Well, this is super exciting, because over at Jen Ig's site, you can win a copy of Rosetta Stone's all new Homeschool Latin Program! Of course, I'd LOVE to win. But if I don't, I'd like YOU to win. So read on, and find out how you can have a chance to win this program.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rosetta Stone is the fastest way to learn a language and has been the #1 foreign language curriculum among homeschoolers for a while — and you can WIN the *all new* version 3 Rosetta Stone Homeschool LATIN program… FOR FREE! This is the first year you can get Latin in the brand new Version III update.
This is a $259 program (and believe me it’s worth every penny!) This is a computer based curriculum and Rosetta Stone will also include a headset with microphone, and a supplementary “Audio Companion” CD so you can practice lessons in the car, on the go, or where-ever! Students participate in life-like conversations and actually produce language to advance through the program. Rosetta Stone incorporates listening, reading, grammar, vocabulary and writing along with speaking and pronunciation lessons. For parents, the new Parent Administrative Tools are integrated into the program to allow parents to easily enroll up to ten students in any of 12 predetermined lesson plans, monitor student progress, grade completed work (the program grades the work automatically as the students progress- I love that!), and you can view and print reports for transcripts. Homeschooling a lot of kids at your house? This program is designed to enroll and track up to ten students (five users on two computers) and will work for nearly all ages — from beginning readers up to college students.
To win this most excellent Latin program copy these paragraphs and post them in (or as) your next blog post, and/OR link to the contest from your facebook page and/OR email the information to your homeschool support group – Then go to the original page http://Jeneralities.com and leave a comment saying that you’ve posted about, or have linked to, the contest. Please make sure the link works to get back to the original contest page when you post. And good luck!
