Oh, that's funny. He must be REALLY tired to fall asleep sitting up. (I love getting photos like that, though -- I've gotten my young ones asleep sitting up on the couch and in their high chair.)
He started out cold, so he sat in front of the little room heater. Since he was tired, he laid his head on the chair. I don't think he was entirely asleep, but he was VERY relaxed, and probably would've gone to sleep if left alone.
This would be the same son whom I have a photo of sleeping in a similar position on our armchair. But in that one, he's about 2-3 years old, and it looks like he walked up, leaned onto the seat of the chair, and dozed off. It seems that his feet might've even been a little bit off the floor. I'll have to find it and post it another time. :D
Oh my word, what an adorable photo. Is anything in the world as precious as a sleeping child, especially when they've obviously just dropped in their tracks? :-)

Welcome to the insanity that is my life. I spend much of it meandering on bunny trails. Fortunately, I have my GPS - God's Positioning System - to bring me back home.

it's all that Christmas tree decorating. He probably overheard you talking about Saturday and konked out over the mere thought of it!
Too sweet!!
Hehe, great shot. Happy WW.
I know how he feels! He's in the right spot in front of that heater!
LOL I did that the other day when i was so sick . I hadn't slept all night and was exhausted just from coughing!
Is he actually, really sleeping?! That is hysterical!
