Morning Face Challenge

I was over at Seek First His Kingdom and Rachelle participated in a Morning Face Challenge. While it's too late in the day for me to take a "no-makeup, just-got-up, haven't-had-coffee-yet face" shot, I just happen to have one from a few months ago. I'm not exactly sure why I took this picture, other than I found it rather humorous. It also hadn't been that long since I'd purchased a digital camera, so you have to try assorted silly things when you get one (or is that just me?). There was a day that I would NEVER have shared such a picture, but after 40 I started learning (finally!) to not take every little thing so seriously. Life's just too short for that kind of stress. So feel free to join in the challenge and leave me a comment . . . or just laugh at my hair!

This was the one I intended to share. The hair's funnier here:

But then I figured this was more appropriate - no glasses hiding the bags and I'm on the phone!

I especially like the icky yellow tone from pictures in the bathroom! LOL!!

So there you have it - my Morning Face (& hair)!

Oh! I LOVE your pics! Totally adorable. How cute you are in the morning. :-) Thanks for participating! Isn't it liberating to be over 40????

Thanks! I even have you by a couple of years - 45 next week. I wouldn't have pegged you for over 40, though.

Yes, it's been a very good thing getting past that number. God has definitely stripped away some of my idiosyncrasies! Of course, there are plenty more for him to work with!

Bunny trails I never would have put you at 45ish. Your picture is so cute. I am embarrassed now and so happy I don't have a digital camera. I don't care if it is liberating. You know I actually believed that I had a great philosophy of life, a SUPER SELF-ESTEEM. So much for self esteem. I thought I was reasonably good looking until I saw your before pictures. Have a great day ladies.

Thanks, angeleyes blue! It's good to hear these comments the week before you turn 45! Ha! The only reason my picture is okay is because you can't see the rest of me. I could definitely use less pounds on the remainder of that body. Tomorrow starts the Tales from the Scales challenge though, so maybe I can post some happy news on that.

I would have never guessed you were 45. Happy early birthday to you!

I'll be 37 on Wednesday. I've got a long way to go but I have noticed that I'm more laid back than I was even a few years ago.

I just got back from my own Tales From the Scales (Weight Watchers). Ugh. I'm 1.4 lbs over my goal weight. I refuse to pay them again next month.

Thanks, Gina! I guess having young-looking parents helps. Not that they're all that old, but they sure don't look their ages.

Happy Early Birthday to you too!! At least you have a few weeks to get rid of that 1.4 that tracked you down.

GREAT pictures! I love your spunk!

Are you REALLY almost 45??? How come you look so much younger than I am I'm 41???

Hey Paula, I think you look great in your no-makeup picture. BTW - maybe it's this high altitude living that makes a difference. Rachelle looks super in her picture, too, and she's a fellow Coloradoan! :D

I'm with Rachelle, you're stinkin' adorable! I can't believe you took those pics, though, without "having" to! Ha! I like your spunk.

I N T E R E S T I N G to me that so many of the women who arose to Lisa's "face challenge" are 40-ish, give or take a few (I'm 44). I've often said over the past few years, I'm more comfortable in my skin than ever.

Good to "meetcha" :).

I think it's really funny that I actually had a "use" for them all these months later! It was kind of fun figuring out I could take a self-portrait while looking at my screen in the mirror with my new digital camera! Yeah, kinda dorky, I suppose, but not as bad as the goofy thing my mom and I discovered with cell phones. Maybe I'll reveal that one some day too. Or not. I find great amusement in some of the most off-the-wall, ridiculous things.

I actually have other self-portraits, but they reside quietly on my hard drive (and back-up CDs) for now.

I agree on the over 40 thing - I think it's partly Christ's work in my life and just being over 40. A friend & I had this conversation a few months ago.
